Terms of Service
These terms apply when you book or receive services through Rainier Notary LLC("Rainier Notary," "we," "us"), including through our website, by phone, or by text message. By requesting or receiving an appointment, you agree to these terms.
Our services
We provide commissioned mobile notary and loan signing services. Appointments may be performed by Rainier Notary LLC or by an independent commissioned notary working with us. We notarize signatures and administer oaths — we do not prepare, draft, or review the legal sufficiency of any document presented to us.
Required notice: I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in this state. I am not allowed to draft legal records, give advice on legal matters, including immigration, or charge a fee for those activities. Nothing on this site, or said during an appointment, is legal advice, and using our services does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Booking & identification
You're responsible for having valid, government-issued photo identification available at the appointment, and for making sure all signers are present, willing, and able to sign. A notary may decline to complete a notarization at any time if they aren't satisfied a signer is who they say they are, is signing willingly, or appears competent to sign — this is required of every Washington notary, not a matter of discretion we can waive.
Fees & payment
Notarial fees are earned at the time the appointment is performed and are non-refundable once the appointment has taken place, regardless of the outcome of the underlying transaction or document. Any travel fee is a separate charge from the notarial fee itself, is not required by Washington law, and applies only when agreed to in advance. Invoices are due by the date shown on the invoice.
Cancellations & rescheduling
Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel. Late cancellations or a signer not being ready at the scheduled time may still incur a fee to cover the notary's travel and reserved time.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, our liability for any claim relating to our services is limited to the fee paid for the appointment giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for the content, validity, or legal effect of any document we notarize, or for how a document is used after the appointment.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, and notarial acts are performed in accordance with Washington's Revised Uniform Law on Notarial Acts (RCW 42.45) and its implementing rules.
Privacy & text messaging
Our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms explain what information we collect and how appointment text messages work, and are part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page.
